A glimpse into my life

What I'm thinking about . . . .
Brain Research. I just started a new class on brain research and I think it will be on my mind a lot in the next few months. Thankfully, much of it should be review or at least familiar from my psychology days.

I'm thankful for. . . .
Managing to get into the above class with relative ease and Anthony's job which will cover the tuition costs.

We're learning . . .
As a family we have been learning to have family devotions using the recommended order for Morning Prayer in the Book of Common Prayer.
As parents we are trying to figure out exactly how we expect the kids to behave during this time and how to model what it means to pray, etc. At this point, I'm just thankful that we are trying.

I'm praying for . . .
Financial miracles, like a reliable computer for my highly internet-linked brain research class and those books I'll need to buy and financial wisdom in the little things. The biggest miracle would be speeding up of paying off our debt. That's the kind of prayer request that is really too big for me to wrap my brain around, but not too big for God!

I think I'll end with what the kids have been saying lately:
Ethan says . . . (After I light-heartedly asked at breakfast one morning, why they were all being "little whiners") "Mom, from now on I would prefer it if you called me a 'big whiner'".

Elena says . . . "Do I have to move out when I get bigger and go to college?" She thinks living at home and commuting would be just fine.

Joel says . . . (One the 6th day of school) "It was only my first time-out Mom." And I said, "It was your last time out, too, right?"
He said, "No, Mom, it was my first time out." (In case you're wondering, he was talking to a friend during circle time).

Cami says . . . mostly "da, da, da" or "ma, ma, ma" or some variation of these words. If she could use words, she would also probably tell you how much she loves the 'Johnny jump-up' right now.
