The last day of summer

What should I do on my very last day of my very first summer off? That is the question I have to answer. Do I clean my house? make freezer meals for the first two weeks of school? or just laze around all day and maybe go for a swim? or make tons of entries on my blog? I guess I'll only know the answer to that question tomorrow night.

I do know what I did the rest of the summer, though. I thought I'd include a few pictures of the highlights.
We started the summer out with MANY home improvement projects and here are a few results.

Tearing off wall paper and prepping walls.

The new walls and the new floors! Before these floors our carpets looked like this:

Its hard to describe how wonderful it is to feel like I can clean my house and it will actually LOOK like we cleaned. Here's two more pictures of the entry way/living room.

We're still putting some rooms back together and we still need to get the garage organized, but I'm just amazed that we got these projects done, at all. We got things put mostly back together just in time to go camping for a week at Hume Lake. A great time was had by all!

After camping, we got back just in time to join in a week of fun at Camp Wahoo! Vacation Bible School at our church. This is the first time I've ever helped plan and lead a VBS, so it was a big deal. Things went really well and the kids especially loved all the water games and crafts. My neice even came to join the fun. It was a lot of work, but definately worth it. Actually all the volunteers did most of the work when we finally got to VBS week. I did most of my work before hand.

After VBS, it was on to school shopping and getting ready to go back to work. Time flies. . . and I think maybe I need a vacation from my vacation :)
I hope everyone else had a good vacation, too. Here's one last picture of the youngest for those of you who made it all the way to the end of this post!
