A good article and a book I want to read

Yesterday, we received the latest issue of Christianity Today and have been enjoying reading it. We were especially interested in the cover story, The Future Lies in the Past:Why evangelicals are connecting with the early church as they move into the 21st century, because it really explains a lot about our experience and why we became what you could call Evangelical Anglican Christians. Not only does the article explain some of the reasons why we go to the church we do, it also had a picture of our old church in Wheaton :) How does that saying go about not appreciating what you have until you don't have it any more, go? Well we found that to be true when we moved to Chicago and didn't have our wonderful California friends and family and then again in coming back and no longer having our friends from Wheaton and Rez (as we lovingly called Church of the Resurrection). Anyway, after I read the article I came across a book by a new CT columnist that caught my attention. It is called, The Suburban Christian: Finding Spiritiual Vitality in the Land of Plenty, by Al Hsu. It really looks like an interesting book and one that I would like to get my hands on soon. I think I'll try requesting it from the library and if that doesn't work, I just might have to go out and buy it. Maybe it would be a good book for the summer book club at our church, who knows?
