(For those few guys out there who might read my blog or folks who just can't stand labor stories, feel free to skip the next paragraph and get to the bottom line at the end of the post)
So, the day after my last post I went in for an ultra sound to check my amniotic fluid level. The doctor told me that it was quite low and since we were so close to being full term, that she thought it would be best to induce my labor. What started as an early morning doctor's appointment turned into a hospital stay. Around 1 pm the doctor tried kick starting labor by breaking my water. When that didn't go as quickly as she hoped they put me on pitocin around 3 pm. The funny thing is at first it didn't look like my labor was going very fast, so when the doctor came to see me around 5, she had them double my dose. About an hour later the nurse came to increase the pitocin and I asked her not to because the contractions were strong enough. She didn't really believe me until half an hour later when I told Anthony that he'd better get a nurse in there quick to see if I could push. When she did she found out I was ready (a huge change from the 3 cm just 40 minutes before) and told me that I hadn't told them I labor fast. Which actually wasn't true, because I told them how fast Joel was. I think she just didn't believe me. The nurse was also completely shocked that I wanted to push and tried to talk me out of it until the doctor got there. I told her that I was going to push, so she'd better get someone in there quick or be ready to catch the baby herself, if she didn't think my doctor was going to make it. Don't wory, the doctor did make it, but she was only there for about 15 minutes before our precious little girl was born at 6:46 pm!
The bottom line: Our healthy little girl, Camila Rose, was born on October 10, 2007 at 6:46 pm at St. Agnes Hospital, Fresno, CA. She was born at 36 weeks and 3 days ( about a week before official full term status and 3 weeks before her due date). We are both home now resting and recovering from the surprise. Pictures coming soon!

Paula, You always seem to know how to surprise everyone with how quickly your children arrive. Congratulation on Camila and we both look forward to meeting her soon.
I got to amniotic fluid level and decided that I wasn't ready to think of you, or any girl, in terms of fluid levels just yet. :-)
Suffice to say that I am thrilled for you all. Congratulations!
