The Olympic Weekend

We are having quite the "Olympic Weekend". For our first event, tent assembly.

This is the new "Olympic Cottage" tent we got for our annual camping trip. We are really getting inspired now and will probably try to take a couple small trips. This was the practice run, so we could make sure we know how to set it up. Cousin Elise came over to join the fun and we even made smores in the fireplace. Fun was had by all. While we were camping, Elena was practicing her runway skills at a nine year-old's fashion/dress-up birthday party.

And for Saturday's main event, Science Olympiad!

Elena was in a science competition and participated in two events, Can Racers and Pasta Bridge. She and her teammate won fifth place for building a bridge out of spaghetti which was able to hold 55 bolts before tumbling over. She also got to do other fun science activities like launching a paper rocket.

The third event will be tomorrow; a laser quest party for Ethan's friend.

I think I'm going to be ready to go back to work on Monday :)
